Today’s teens have incredible digital abilities their parents never dreamed of. They can create viral content, build online communities, and navigate complex apps with ease. But in their tech-immersed world, some fundamental human skills are quietly slipping away. A 2023 Pew Research study found that 67% of Americans think basic practical skills are disappearing from younger generations. While 89% of Baby Boomers can read a paper map, only 34% of Gen-Z say they have this ability. This gap shows up across many traditional skills.
